The Clay Shed started as a shared hobby between father and daughter, Carl & Gemma. It all started with a second hand wheel and kiln. And after plenty of wonky pots and kiln explosions, the quality of the pots started to improve and they began attracting attention from people wishing to buy them. So The Clay Shed moved from hobby to microbusiness. Three years on, with thanks to some fabulous customers, we continue to hand throw pots day in and day out, selling them on this website and at an array of markets and events across North Yorkshire. As every piece is individually handmade, they all differ in size, shape and colour, making each one truly unique.
